Default Grass / Wheels

Hi everybody, I've just bought a Multiplex Acromaster having progressed up from their Minimag and have had my first few flights with it. The field where I fly the grass is borderline as to whether it's short enough to take off and most of the time it (and the Minimag) just wants to nose over so up until now I've always hand launched. Someone mentioned the other day that some wheels are better for Grass than others and it might be worth changing them - anybody else any input / experience of this and if so any idea's what I should change them to that make a big difference to the weight, if it has any bearing I also fly from tarmac occasionally as well ?????????
Any help greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!!

Default RE: Grass / Wheels

i dont know about wheels, and i havent tested this idea, but i bet angling the land gear so it is still rooted in the same spot but the wheels are farther towards the nose might help with the nose overs.

I have just gone with larger, fatter wheels for my planes that I fly at the parks. Tower Hobbies has a pretty big selection of foamies, all the way up to 4" dia. You will pick up a little weight, but it should not be enough to make a really huge difference. Maybe just re-positioning the battery to compensate would do the trick.

Try these - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXB923&P=0 - they have a whole selection of sizing, and they are treaded which adds a nicer look.
