I have a question, I wish to use a gyro on the rudder. I have a computer radio and mixed the aileron and rudder. Should the gyro go on the aileron channel to work both surfaces or only on the rudder. Would takeoff be affected if gyro is on aileron channel

Tim....All I can tell you is that if you connect to rudder only as you turn using ailerons the rudders will fight back to neutral.....TwinMan is the guy that seems to be "Gyro" savvy.....Bill.......

tim thompson:
Put the gyro on the rudder only. if using only one gyro. With two, put the second on the ailerons.
On the mix, if the ailerons are master to the rudder's slave it would probably work, so long as both engines are running. But no matter how intelligent your computer radio is, it's not smart enough to know when you've lost an engine. Bear that in mind, and proceed accordingly.
For longest life of a twin you need to learn rudder use without mixes, in my opinion. Think most others will agree with me.
On the rudder a gyro's great,
. Helps keep you from wrecking your crate.
