Default Reciever battery voltage???

I was wondering what the highest voltage I can run in a battery pack for a reciever is. I am running a 4 cell aa battery holder right now. I was wondering if I could run one of my extra 6 cell packs from one of my minis the pack it self will fit great but was wondering if 7.2 volts is to much voltage. Thanks for any input on this.

You'd risk burning something out on 7.2v - best bet would be a 5-cell rechargeable pack which will provide 6v and more current than the AAs you're currently using.

Something similar to that should work as a direct replacement to the 4AAs [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_221_224/products_id/6049]Hump (3/2) config[/link]

Or you can install a 6v voltage regulator, I guess it's easier to remove a cell though.

For example, if you run a 7.4v lipo you need to run a regulator.

plus a regulator will keep your volts consistent throughout your run

Depends on the Receiver, read the manual. My old Airtronics RX can operate on 4-7 cells. Thats 4.8 volts to 8.4 volts. This is when manual Speed controller were still being used. The RX power supply is directly connected to the battery.
