spektrum dx6 for onroad
hey my friend is getting into onroad with me. the only problem is he doesnt like the traditional pistol grip radio's. he would like to use a stick radio. i have seen it before at some rc events (mostly the japanese are using them;hot bodies and hpi team).
my question is it possible to use the dx6 for onraod cars?
also is is possible to switch the left and right trigger functions? (instead of making the left trigger to be used as throttle, the throttle will be used on the right and steering on the right)
thanks in advance.

The only problem I see is that the plane/heli stick radios doesn't center their throttle, it is normally all the way to the bottom, as a plane typically doens't need reverse or brake.
Except for that, any plane radio should do the job, it is just a matter of programming the radio.
one of my friends are using his Futaba 6EX 2,4ghz in his Marder Race. Works fine.

exactly, program or just connect the servo movements to be what you need - you only need maybe 2 of the 6 channels.. been a while since I was into cars but I can't imagine why it would not work. In fact, I too thought about this since my radio has a 10 model memory - I could add Rx/esc/servo to a kit and store the model, drive or fly at will.

Why get something with so many functions, when he is only going to be using it in a 2-channel car?
If you are looking for 2.4GHz, I would get this- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSNN8&P=0 Not a bad prise either.
Or something with less quality- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0093p?&C=JAA Will get the job done just not as fancy..
Good luck!

Look it up on the web and check the size of the receiver and then download and read the manual. How hard is that?
