I can help you with a little bit on this.
1. I am currently using a US41 engine on mine. It flys fine (maybe a little overpowered). Originally I had a Supertigre .90 in it which flew it but it was a dog.
2. Servos - Futaba 1/4 scale servo on the elevator. everything else is standard. Using one for each aileron.
The plans are pretty old and I think show a .60 engine. With the .90 I had to add a ton of lead weight. I'm sure someone else will give you CG and throws.

"ton of weight"
OK that's useful info, thanks. Receiver pack was buried way in the back to offset the engine weight. Nice to know someone else is using a bigger than spec engine. It's not a particularly huge rudder but it sure strikes me that a standard servos is a of underkill.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Chuck recommended the following control throws: elevator-1" up and down, rudder-1 1/2" to 2" right and left, ailerons-3/4" up and down.
I'm flying the 76" Lazy Ace with a G23 gasser. No surplus power but it flies very scale like and it balanced without extra weight.
It's a great looking and flying aircraft.
