23MM Hex Hubs For Revo
I was wondering which 23mm hex hubs you guys would recommend. I was running the Proline ones and I thought they were garbage. I felt they put too much stress on the output shafts and caused two of them to break while racing(I believe this is due to the shimming that is needed). Do you guys know of any hubs that are better in design or fit better? They can be plastic or aluminum or whatever, it doesn't matter. Thanks guys.

RE: 23MM Hex Hubs For Revo
Im running the RD Logics 23mm hubs but to be honest, I am switching them to 17mm. I want to be able to swap wheels and tires with my truggy. If you do go with the 23mm, I don't see much of a difference between the RD Logics and the Pro-Lines. I got the RD's way cheaper on Ebay though. Hope this helps a little.

Well either you've been lucky or I've been unlucky.I've broken 2 maybe 3 output shafts due to the added stress those hubs place on them because they sit so far from bearing/carrier.

I cannot believe that nobody has mentioned Rd RACING 23mm hexes W/ 8MM stub axles.... Now this is the ultimate setup, by far[8D]
http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...roducts_id=657
Also now you can buy Rd Racing's 8mm axles seperately ($29.95 for full set) and use them with your choice of 17mm hexs[8D]....I use M2C 17mm/8mm axle hexes. These: http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=2211

AiRevo I originally posted the RD Racing 23mm Hubs but after reading on www.impaktrc.com they are saying they will only fit the RD Racing Aluminum Axle Carriers

Hillfinger, You can run the RD Racing 23mm hubs/8mm axles with any axle carriers with the correct outer bearing[8D]

23mm hexes are overkill, I run the Ofna 17mm adapters and have not had any axle breakage problems that some guys that run 23mm hubs do. You have a much larger selection of rims and tires, I guess for bashing it really does not make a big difference but if you race it does open up the tire and rim selection.

RE: 23MM Hex Hubs For Revo
I had the Pro-line 23mm hubs and they worked fine but I wanted to save weight so I installed the 17mm hubs. I took the 23mm hubs and the nuts to secure them to the axle to work and weighed them and the 17mm hubs saved about 50 grams. Not a lot but it is less rotational weight and my Revo gave better and faster response. I was able to switch to truggy tires/rims which were also a weight savings over my Wabash/crimefighter setup. So if you are racing 17mm is way to go for weight savings alone. For bashing I found better selection of tires/rims that fit 17mm. I have both but prefer 17mm.

RE: 23MM Hex Hubs For Revo
Thanks for the feedback but it's not my Revo. When it was my Revo I ran 17mm hexes on it and LPR holeshots No more breaking but I sold it along with about $180 in wheels and tires for 23mm hexes and I was wondering what I should recommend to the person I sold it to. I tried telling him to run 17mm but he wants to use the 23mm MOABS and bow ties that I gave him with the truck and yes, I did give him the proline 23mm hexes with the truck.

Just wait until that plastic washer snaps and ruins your race on those junk maximizers....you get what you pay for. The ofna 17mm adapters seem great, but after about 1 gallon of running they have a TON of slop in them between the adapter and the axle...... I guess i need to spend the money on the rd racing setup.

ofna hubs or the one that they sell on impactk rc. i have the ofna ones on two of my revos and they are way better than the 23mm. and now with the new lrp's from proline. there is no way i will ever go back to 23mm. just the wieght savings alone are worth it plus they are cheap too. you can get the wheels, tires, and hexes from impactk for like $90 here is the link
