Default stuffing tube

Is it necessary to heat the brass stuffing tube whe you`re ready to bend it?
or just use a tubing bender?

I've always just used a tube bender with no heat. And everything turned out ok!

You can use a pipe to bend it over if you need something cheap. How far do you need to bend the tubeing?

No, you will need to put the flex cable into the brass tube first then bend it little by little by using the hand or tubing bender, make sure the flex cable can turning freely in the brass tube after the bend.

Old trick to bend anything, without collapsing or flattening the tube. Put several wraps of any tape over one end of the pipe. Then slowely dribble in about 2 " of sand. Tap the pipe on a table to compact the sand inside. Do that till filled. Tape end shut. Bend it. I have never had soft Aluminum collapse or flatten.

hands and thumbs.... ive never used anything other then that to bend my stuffing tubes. Put the cable in the tube, support the tube in the area you are wanting to bend with your 2 thumbs sticking out...and bend slowly.

Nobody should have any problem bending a fully assembled, OCTURA type flex shaft / tube.

I thought you were doing 90 degree bends.

If you don't have sand handy (here it's under snow) you can use table salt to fill the tube.
