A few opinions would be helpful.
Well Uncle Sam finally came through and now Im getting ready to place the order for my first nitro truck. Im not a complete newbie tho I do have a rc18t hacker/quark combo that looks very impressive blasting through the dirt. I have 300 bucks to spend and I enjoy the small size of 1/18(live in the city, space is limited) I have a few choices Ive narrowed it down to but not limited too. An Xray nt18mt comes with a 35 dollar combo on amain and the lhs carries a decent smattering of parts, A redcat volcano sv pro ,lots of aluminum and at a price point too. I also liked the redcat tremor but they are out of stock with no shipment in sight. I know theres more but i dont remember them. im open to suggestions too the only criteria is 4wd and around 300 bucks im trying to steer clear of 1/8 since theres nowhere really open enough to run it and workspace is limited, this truck will be a basher. thanks

I would go with the Xray....They are some of the best quility cars I've seen/owned. Check with [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/profile.cfm?section=profile&forum=1&memid=389436]Rc Huligan[/link] PM him. He's a new Xray dealer who's on the 1/18 forum alot. He has some of the best prices and customer service I've found.

The HPI firestorm is 10th scale and comes in a RTR for 220-250ish. The sportwerks Chaos is a 1/16th buggy and you can get one brand new for about $100 right now. There is a thread for them in the mirco forum so you can find out more about them.

Well, you already have my 2 cents.
I have some redcat vehicles, and they're fine - but the Xrays are better IMO. There is a rather large population of "redcat cultists" as I call them here on RCU though, so its hard to get accurate information.

I own one of each and the Xray diffs are 100 times better the the Rc18 ones. What ever you do follow the directions for breaking in the Xray diffs.

I would have gotten the Kyosho mini inferno 09 ST truggy. It comes RTR with a 0.9 sirio Italian made engine and a starter box. ready to race or bash right out of the box.
