Evilpob,
Most of the guys here are from the states, I don't think gatso's are that popular over there. I live in Stoke on Trent and we are littered with the things.
Good idea though, go down at night and waste all the film in 'em!
P.S. Where ru in the UK?

I live in Surrey, near Gatwick airport.. and sorry to you guys in the states, but these cameras at the side of the roads go off at 5-10mph over the limit..
So my Gs Storm should set them off...
If/when i manage to do this i'll put a photo of it on the forum.. wish me luck...

I dont know what you are talking about, but one time ther was a thing on the side of my road that said the speed of passing cars, so at night a strapped a flashlight onto my car, and drove it past. I got 41mph, that was with a duratrax overdrive st. thats pretty good.

lol that would be awesome ...the cops getting a photo of a r/c breaking the speed limit.
you think its big enough to set it off?
that gave me an idea.....we have red light camera .......run the light and you get a front/side/ and rear shot of your car breezing through the intersection with your plate glowing likes its uranium and a nice bill.
nice to get some reflective tape and make a sign for the back of the r/c addressed to the fuzz

HAHA im going to try that some time. theres a speeding/redlight camera on the side of the road a little ways from my house but it doesent run out of film like some of you said. its all electronic.

If you want to see what they're about, type in "Gatso" in a search engine. I've been trying to find some funny gatso photo's, there used to be a dutch website called the Tuff Tuff club, but I can't find it now. Basically in Europe there is a hate campaign against these things, they hide them behind signs etc so they raise money. Some of the pictures of them being destroyed are good. (a personal favourite is one where a farmer got done by one, then came back with his tractor, threw a chain around it and ripped it out of the ground!!).
The other good ones are a 4 x 4 with its plate taped up, with a bare a*s hanging out of each window except the drivers, and a hog with no plate going through and the biker is flipping the double bird!! (riding with no hands) excellent!!

heh... if it didnt scream out to me about saftey and generally a stupid idea I would want to take one of my RC planes and buzz one of those.
imagine the look on the guys face when he sees the picture of a spitfire blowing past the camera at about 70

well you can think of the prop like the gearing. a higher pitch prop the taller the gearing... (there is more to it but thats the simple explination) also the engine has a regular muffler on it.. not a pipe.. a muffler. so that takes a bit of power away but makes it quieter (so people dont complain about flying fields)
a mousse can pipe is just that. a tuned pipe made out of a mousse can (the hair care product stuff)
they give you on some engines up to 5000 RPM more just for using it. not only that but if done right they have an effect on the whole power range.. not just a narrow power band.
doing this I can probably get my spitfire from a est 70mph to over 100..
but right now 70 is fast enough.. it looks right for the size plane.

Just a little trick.
There are all sorts of urban myths in the UK about how to defeat speed camera's, but the only proven one is to go through at over 160 mph, by the time the camera goes off, the car is out of its field of view. Good idea in theory but maybe a little dangerous in practice.

what would be cool if you could put a jump in the road so when you speed pass the camera and it goes off, your car takes off and the is photographed in mid air...
that would be cool...
i'm at the moment scouting for a camera.... i think i've found one... and may have to done either sunday morning ( a bit harsh) or sunday evening... whatever i'll get a picture for you guys!!
