Futaba 3PM fail safe help
Hi,
I am using the Futaba 3PM radio system using the PPM mode, I noticed that when I am setting the fail safe (the integrated fail safe in the receiver) position by pressing on the F/S on the back of the remote, it works fine. The thing is that after I turn off the remote and the receiver, the fail safe definitions just disappears and the fail safe position in no longer defined.
Should it be that way? Do I need to define this every time? Is there a problem with my receiver? Maybe I am doing something not right?
Thank you,
Tom

That is the way it works, if you only turn off the transmitter the setting will remain, but if you turn the receiver off it is erased, and has to be set again.

RE: Futaba 3PM fail safe help
Can I connect external fail safe to that system? Will it work? In that case I guess that I just won't use the reviever's build in fail safe?
Thank you,
Tom

RE: Futaba 3PM fail safe help
BTW – when I’m setting the fail safe position I move the throttle to the right position and then press the F/S button on the back, then I leave the throttle but the green light just doesn’t stop to flash, so I turn off the remote and then back on (only then it stops), should it be that way? Or can I drive the car with the green light flashing?
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks,
Tom

RE: Futaba 3PM fail safe help
In HRS mode, I don't think that you have to set the failsafe every time. Only once and it stay memorized.
Test to see if the failsafe will work when it flashes. Turn the receiver and radio on, set the failsafe, and turn off the radio. If the failsafe works, then your fine, but if it doesn't, you should contact Futaba for help because I've never experienced this.

Yes it will work ok with the light flashing, but I always test it by turning the TX off, so once you turn it back on the light stops flashing.
And yes you can use an external failsafe unit.

RE: Futaba 3PM fail safe help
Thank you guys, I guess I’ll keep on doing this routine, I will turn off the transmitter every time after setting the fail safe – just to be sure that the flashing light doesn’t mean anything…

RE: Futaba 3PM fail safe help
set your failsafe settings one time,... Then when you turn on the tx/rx.,..... give it about 20 seconds. I do not remember exact seconds,.but it is like 20 seconds for the failsafe to set each time it is turned on.
I was having the same delimma when I first got mine.
