Default Speed

I just was lookin around on the internet and saw the size of the engines that these boats use! I am currently into gas monster trucks but I was wondering how fast some of these boats go. I saw an engine for 1500 bucks where as my monster truck engines are only 200 so if someone could give me a range in speed that would be awesome!!

Just interested

Thanks

Default RE: Speed

most engines range in the $200-$500 range dep on size, features and modifications. Speed depends on hull type, length and weight.

a wood, home made hull somewhere in the 48" range with a $40 weedeater engine will go mid to high 30's on average where as a well designed gas rigger with a 25cc mild mod zenoah can have the ability to break 60mph. I have heard that full mod zens or QD engines can push riggers in 80mph territory.

Depending on what hull you are interested will net a better reply as to the 'general' top speed of the boat

Top speed varies with $$ spent. A typical zen powered gas boat is around the 50 mark (again this varies between hull types).

Default RE: Speed

I'm running 260 zenoahs in all my boats and the boats are running 62-68 race trim.
They can go faster but they tend to be very hard to handle and finish races.
So, modified 260 motor plus the right pipe and prop is what you need to get the faster speeds.

Mod motor $500.00 to $600.00
pipe $100.00 to $180.00
Prop $50.00 to $75.00

It adds up quick!
