Default Bead lock wheels

Anyone use them? I was thinking about using them just to save the headache of buying new wheels when you smoke a set of tires of w/e. Do they only work for rock crawling or can they be used like any other wheel?

I have heard they cut through the rubber on hard landings.

I have my set shown. I like them but they weigh your truck down and it does effect perfomance. Thats the only downfall I have found. They have come off occasionally but not often. Evey 3 months or I would find the brim of a tire popping out. No biggie.

Do they balloon off easy? Like, can I run them on the road full speed? I just don't like paying $100 every time I want to change tires.

Nah they don't baloon off every run you make. They hold on pretty good. There are other options though, you can re-use the wheels a set of wheels and take off the tires. [link=http://www.rcbros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=889]Easy tire removal[/link]

P.S. You can find a lot better deals then $100 each set. I can buy a brand new set of tires and wheels for around $60 off of a couple diffrent sites. (ie, amainhobbies.com , impaktrc.com , etc.)

I got mine from Tower Hobbies, I have the same as NitroVenom but mine are yellow. they were like 25 a pair. I havent had any problems with the tires bead coming out. I might get a set of Rock rings for mine, is there any purpose of them, NitroVenom?

Uhh.. they look cool..? LOL they work as spacers also, so when you tighten down the screw, it presses the wheel together against the tire that much tighter.
