RE: TRX 2.5 are garbage
cool thanks i knew it was rich because i had set it rich to stop overheating so fast. Ya i should have realized it was a bad plug since the whole thing went from silver to black. Also, is it normal for the outside of the plug be all discolored or should it stay silver like new outside.

What heat plug are you using and what nitro %?
It's been my experience that if you fire up the motor from a cold start and it's that punchy, the piston and sleeve are worn and/or you have the needles too lean. Once your motor heats up, the sleeve expands and you lose compression. That's probably why you are having to wait for it to cool down between short runs. I would replace the piston and sleeve and crankshaft, or have the sleeve resized (rayaracing.com) for 22 bucks, which is what *I* always do.
The 2.5's aren't bad engines. The weak spot is the carburetor. You have to re-tune it fairly often, and in VERY slight increments.
Good luck! [sm=regular_smile.gif]

I think that it needs to be richer on the high speed. Lean the low speed out a tad to keep your acceleration.
I think that the way you are running your truck might be contributing; you run a lot of high-revs doing those spinouts and burnouts. That will heat the engine up, so give it more gas. Fatten that thing up, my opinion.
