EZ Start help
I got my revo 3.3 out for the first time this summer today and I finally got it started and running consistently, but then my EZ Start battery died so I charged it back up in about an hour and went back out and when I tried to start it up again, the nitro motor tries to start for a second or two, but then dies and all you hear is the EZ Start motor. If you take the glow pug out and put the EZ Start in, it sounds like the motor is trying to start and it does not die out. I was wondering what might be the problem and where to start with fixing it.

RE: EZ Start help
l dont really understand what your saying, when the ezy start stops working, the engine should not turn over at all. Wiggle the wand in it plug at back of truck first, see if its a connection.
If its working and the starter motor is going but the nitro engine wont turn over, theres a problem in the ezy start gearing on the truck.

Like beer said, check the plug connection, all wiring especially were the clips go onto the ezstart motor. Heat the nitor motor with a hairdryer and make sure its at bdc and turns over by hand or screw drive. Put some afterrun down the motor or spry wd-40 in it. If the oneway is not slipping then after all that and your sure you got a good charge, should narrow it down to ez starter motor, tranny on ez start, or wand.

The second of the two, the ez start is going, but the nitro motor is not even trying to turn over, but when you take the glow plug completely out of the motor, the motor sounds like it is trying to turn over, like when you use after run oil

RE: EZ Start help
So is the ezstart free spinning and not turning the motor? If this is the case its your oneway bearing, just take it out and clean it then re-oil it and put it back in and your rdy to go.

RE: EZ Start help
Its probably easier to just pull the motor out, then remvoe the ez start from the back of the motor. Then I just pull the oneway out and just drop it in a cup and hose it down with wd-40 real good then let it sit in the cup then just clean it really good and reoil with 5w-30 synthetic motor oil and put it back in. I do this after every few gallons as a regular procedure.

RE: EZ Start help
Probably not a good idea to keep trying to start it after its slipping cause it might do excess wear to the shaft and bearing and then you will not get the life out of it. They last and last if you keep reoiling them when they start showing the slightest signs of slipping
