Default MIP CVD Install Help

I am installing MIP's in my 3.3 TMaxx all around, front, rear and center. I have only gotten to the right rear and I am seeing a problem. There is play in the axel when I have the tire bolted up. It moves axial, in and out about 1/16". This can't be right, what do I do to fix it? Stock axel carrier and 17mm hex drives.

are the pillow ball adjustment screws in all the way on the axle carrier? there should be minimul movement and when suspension is at full height the dogbone should still be/14" or more into the drive cup.

did they come with little washers? if so put them on the axel between the joint and the hub. not sure if that is what they are for, but that is what i did and i have had no problems with it.

I didn't mess withe pillow balls, actually trying to confirm these are located at the top and bottom of the axel carrier.

I didn't see any washers witht the CVD's; they would come in handy though.

Be careful with those MIP centers. If the pins throws out on the front centers and can destroy your trans gear and diff gears.

gotcha, thanks

ok, tightened the pillow balls about 1 turn, no change. Put in 2 washers from my wheels just to check things out and now there is no play in the wheel but the wheel does not spin freely, washers may be too large diameter. I also loosened the outdrive and moved it towards the outside of the truck a little to set where the dog bone sits indie it. Either way I don't get why the wheel moves 1/16" in the axial direction. Any thoughts?

I have had my MIP cvd pin fall out well going full speed in my BL e-maxx and the pin went throw the chassis and stopped all the wheels. It did not break any thing.

for the centres you have to grind a flat spot on the pin for the grub screw to grab....then use loktitie onthe grub screws and use some heat shrink tube on the outside to keep the pins in place.....

About the axles...do you have the bearings in right?

I didn't buy the 2.5's and I haven't touched the bearings, only looked at them to see they were seated. These things are for the 3.3 tmaxx and revo. I guess no one else had this issue, i don't get it. I loosened the wheel nut to allow free spin and no slop. Not sure what else to do, but it seems jerry rigged to me. I may give MIP or tower a call to see whats up.
