Safety wire or Tie wraps?

Safety wire or Tie wraps?
Just wondering what you all prefer with regards to securing your fuel lines. For fuel tanks, I always solder on Dubro barbs so that the pickup line will not fall off in the tank and back it up with a small tie wrap. But for places where there is just a fuel tube on a straight brass/copper tube or fitting, which is best?

RE: Safety wire or Tie wraps?
Double wrapped safety wire secures the fuel tubing more evenly around the circumference of the tube . Tie wraps have been known to actually pull the fuel tube away from the brass tube near the receiver .

Safety wire - I have seen leaks caused with tie wraps, they do not apply even pressure all around the circumference of the tube.
As the fuel or air tubing hardens with age, the point where the tie wrap strap enters the tie wrap 'head' (or whatever) causes the tubing to bunch up/loosen and will often leak.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will continue to use safety wire, and include the tank internals from here on out. I will use the tie wraps where they work they best - wiring looms.

no question safety wire here. only time Ive used tie wraps is on tygon or glow, but I flare the pipe. as I replace line, I safety wire now. I had a leak I couldnt find until I replaced the tie in the tank. that was a long troubleshooting process on a gasser. it kept getting bubbles.

I use the fine stuff BVM packages for my air lines, but on the fuel lines, I use heavier .021(0.53 mm) aircraft stainless steel safety wire........perfect for tight wraps on clear PE tubing as well as Tygon......works best when wrapped with a locking safety wire pliers.......
I got my roll(sold by the pound) at the EAA Flymarket several years ago.....Packaged by Wire and Cable Specialty Ties, Inc. in West Chester, PA......PN#302-21.....1 lb spool will last a lifetime

Saftey Wire ALL the way, get it from Todd at Dreamworks if you can't find .020 "soft" SS wire. The problem with tie wraps "zip ties" is that they don't secure 360 degrees around the tubing. There is a slight gap that can't be tighened where the tie connects to itself.
