MVVS 45 IRS Idle SLow to Return to correct setting
I have a new MVVS 45 which I've just completed running in (well I've finished the bottle of run-in oil that came with the engine mixing as per instructions and am now running specified mobil oil). After running at high throttle for approx 30 seconds or more, when returning to idle, the engine remains at a high idle and will only return to the correct idle after approx 30 seconds. (This happened both with the run-in fuel and current fuel). I have checked the throttle linkage for any slop (which there is none) and am using a digital servo so I don't believe that this is causing the problem with the idle. This is my first gasser engine, so any advice will be welcome.

I am not sure if Barney's problem is solved. Why would you say thank you on his behalf? Still feeling guilty of sending those poor blokes down under in chains eh?

RE: MVVS 45 IRS Idle SLow to Return to correct setting
Hi Guys,
I'm back on-line at last. I still haven't solved my problem due to illness and at this point in time will not be able to fly for at least another 2 to 4 weeks.
Thanks for your responses. I'll let you know how I go when I am able to get back my local field.
(BaldEagle: Thanks for your reply in my absence. I bet you're the guy at the local field helping people learn to fly and solving their issues. Its good to have people like you involved in our hobby/sport!!!)

Today we had a similar issue with a Zenoah engine. It was a bear to start, until the idle was richened. As a consequence, the engine settled into a nice put-put idle faster. Before that, it tended to linger at slightly higher rpm before settling down.

Pe, Mike,
Thanks for your help and your well wishes. First day back at the field and the problem is fixed. It was just as you said, the idle was too lean.
Thanks Again!!!
