Default Supertigre conversion

I have a Supertigre 2000 that I want to convert to gas. I understand that I should change the crankshaft pin and install needle bearings. Has anyone done this conversion and would you share some info with me on locating bearings etc. Any information at all will be appreciated.

If you JUST GOTTA do this conversion, just run 10:1 oil mix on the stock rod. It will last for years.

Hi. I have 2 of these engines converted, and I don't run a needle bearing. Just run CH Ignition and 10 to 1 oil ratio as per the response from TKG (who by the way is CH Ignitions) and you will never have a problem. Also, run the stock carb, it works with gas ok after proper tuning. But, best power will be on FAI fuel [no nitro, just 80/20 methanol/oil] w/ignition. You will be amazed at the power it will develop.

QUESTION...would 10-1 be 128 ounces of methanol with 12.8 ounces of oil in it? Also what spark plug do you use? 1/4x32 or tap it to 10mm. Thanks capt,n[:-]

Hi.
I actually run 14 oz. oil per gal w/o problems. Do not run them @ 50 to 1 on the stock rod, not enough oil if it ever goes lean. Remember, the oil is your ONLY safeguard against HEAT, which robs power. The engine will run great and will never breakdown using 10% oil, but use less oil (less than 10 % overall), and you WILL have a problem.

Re. sparkplugs: I've run the Rimfires (1/4x32 )and 10mm plugs. Go with the 10mm plug conversion, as the Rimfires are somewhat inconsistent, plus they are VERY expensive (Avg. $15.00 ea.).

Good luck with your Supertigre.

How about the fuel feed problem? I have two ST2300 on glow and have always wanted to convert one to gas. I have to use a VP30 to get consistent fuel feed.

Walboro and adapter for the 2300 easy fix, only takes $$$$
