Default Four Stroke and two Stroke Capacity Comparison.

I often hear people asking what four stroke is needed for an equivalent two stroke engine.

I often wondered about that myself and seems that the general consensus is that a four stroke needs to be 1.5 times the capacity of a two stroke for the same power.

So assuming thet being true and generally agreed upon, I slapped a quick spreadsheet together with some comparative info with regards to two stroke versus required four stroke capacity and which Saito and OS engines I would use in their respective instances.

I know this is not rocket science or cast in stone, but I think this sort of sums it up according to my opinion.

Feel free to disagree or agree with this.

Marcel

Four strokes in the .52~.56 size range are underrated. These engines are equivalent to .40~.46 two strokes when tuned and propped correctly. The .70~.82 size four strokes are more equivalent to .51~.56 two strokes.

I personally would double it. That way you wont be disapointed, but thats just me and if you have too much power , perfect . Cheers the pope
