Zenoah G-23
I bought a 60 size Miss America P-51 to put my Zenoah G-23 on but then later found out that the engine will be too heavy for the plane. The wing loading would be way too much. I was wondering if anyone might have a warbird they would be willing to trade that would better suit this engine or have a Zenoah G-20 they might want to trade plus some cash. I really like this plane, so if anyone has a Zenoah G-20 I would rather do that, but I will do whatever I have to do

Most folks that dig warbirds, don't end up having just one. Keep your P51, look for a good used, suitable engine for it...then treat yourself to another airframe for the 23

I was brainstorming last night and was wondering if I could put electronic ignition on the G-23. How much lighter do you think it would be without the magneto if this is possible?

About 1 lb will come off the engine, if you send it to Ralph Cunningham, of RCIgnitions, 928 635 2455. He'll machine off unnecessary material, his work is warrantied for life...and the price is great for the work done. You'll also get a new carb spacer made from G10 board, that brings the carb in closer to the cylinder, and rotates it for a straight shot in respect to throttle linkage. CHignitions can also sell you a DIY kit for this.
You will have to add back in, the weight of an ignition battery and switch however....
I've never owned the H9 60 sized P51, but I've been around a friend's a little bit, and I seriously wonder if you'd get the 23 to fit in the chin of the aircraft without significant cutting up front. And that's if you can come in at an 'ok' weight. Hmmmm...perhaps post this in the warbird forum to get some input from those that have the plane!
