Default Lanier 30% Edge 540T

Has anyone bought this plane and noticed the slop between the wing tube and phenolic tube. What did you do to overcome the amount of play between the two. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I wrapped mine with electrical tape. Extra is flying great, added 2oz to the tail and its a wicked machine. Motor screams, about to throw the 28x10 3W prop on there.

Default Thanks!

Electrical tape was my first thought. I'm glad you like the Extra.
Found a trailer yet?

Default Lanier 30% Edge 540T

I had the 120 Edge that had the same problem. I got this tip from a guy in the club and it worked great.

Coat your wing tube with a very light coat of vasaline.
Mix up 30 min of epoxy and microballons.
Coat the inside of the phenolic tube with the mixture and then insert the wing tube.
Clean up extra mixture with isopropal alcohol and paper towell.

Let it cure then pull out the wing tube and clean it of with the isopropal and a towell.

This lasted until the demise on the plane to radio failure.

Hope this helps

Default wing tubes

Guys: I can hardly get my wings on the tubes. I had to sand the inside of the left one just to get it half way on. I think you could run some CA down the wing tube and hit it with some kicker to tighten up the fit. my 2 cents
