It's always SOMETHING!
well, after getting my tmaxx up and ready (or so i thought) i had to make a run to hobby store because the hitec servo i bought wouldnt fit the servo saver. i get there, and all they have left is the imex aluminum one for $20. i buy it and run for awhile. then, i blow a shock. i get in to take it off and realize that 3 f the screws in my INTEGY shock tower are stripped. imagine that. not only that, but the bulkhead screws on both ends of the truck (INTEGY as well) are also stripped. there are seriously like 3 good screws holding this thing together. i put on extra shock, and go to run again. blow that shock, and snap the rear turnbuckle screw in part in half. shouldn't let women drive i guess. im about up to here with this GD thing guys. it's nothing but a money trap and it gives a mean migraine.

agreed!!! try to stay away from integy. they use really poor quality metal. i try to stay away from aluminum anyways, its not near as forgiving as plastic, metals have almost no flex at all.

Ya. Definetly only get good quality aluminum parts. A little aluminum is good, but only for parts that really need it. Get as much RPM stuff as you can!

All R/Cs are money traps, but yeah you gotta stick with better quality parts.

Sell it and get a LST2 or a savage x ss. Now traxxas has put a bad taste in your mouth its time to trade your lemon for something sweeter. LOL The more and more dive into this hobby the more I realize why every hobby shop has more traxxas replacement parts then any other RC. Its the truth too 4 hobby shops I have been to in 2 states say they sell about the same amount for all makes HPI, Losi, Traxxas and they are alwayse woundering why more traxxas parts are sold and stocked. What about when you land upside down from 15 foot in the air? I just don't like the fact that traxxas has NO roll cage. Oh and don't even think about those rc raven steel cages. So what your saying is the only time you don't break it is when your sissy footing around on flat ground. Most of the Hpi vs Lois vs traxxas threads Ive read say traxxas is a good racer, losi is a good racer/basher and hpi is a good basher. Bashing is what I do. Plus if you don't work/ mod your truck what are you gonna do when it breaks? Come to RCU and ask how to fix it. No thats why you get the ss kit, put it together and learn the in's and outs.
Oh well, to each is there own. I'm just pointing out that every hobby shop I've been to says they see more traxxas's break then HPI or Losi. Two of those stores were hobby towns. One in orlando FL, one is charleston SC and 2 private stores here in asheville.

Hobby Town is a major Traxxas dealer for one thing. Always has been. As far as bashing goes I've had 4 Savages now and yes, they hold up very well. All and all I've had better luck with my 5th or maybe 6th Traxxas product though. HPI and Traxxas both make great products and it really comes down to what you like best. It's a Ford/Chevy thing. Buy what you like and run it and fix it as needed. In the end either brand will need repairs if you run your truck hard enough to have fun. Pick which you like best and have fun man.

RE: It's always SOMETHING!
ElectricNitro, I do beg to differ about not having a roll cage. Go to RC-Solutions.com and look at those cages. I bought one for my maxx and love it. Not to mention that it is lighter then the other cages that are made for the Maxx. It has proven to be a well purchase and haven't messed anything up and i am not a little guy i can stand on it while it is on the truck and it doesnt bend like the other cages. But as for durability it will last as long as you want it to last. I love my traxxas and all of the other trucks every truck will have its good and bad points just like full size vehicles do. I do some really hard bashing out here in Iraq and like every minute of it, the only thing that i break on my truck is the little things like bumper mounts and broke the servo mounts off and that is about it.
