the motors are waterproof but you will have to seal your batteries. some batteries are already waterproff and some aren't. as long as your batteries are sealed and your plugs fit snugly, you can drive it on the bottom of a pool if you really wanted to.

Well I use Duratrax Powerpole connectors and Team Orion 3000mAh Superduty Plus Battery's. The connectors are very similar to the traxxas high current connectors. Would these be fine? And how would I seal my battery's?

do you know what plasti-dip is? if so, just dip the entire battery in but not the wires. then, use electrical tape to cover the wires. that should be good for anything you can throw at it.

All brushed motors are waterproof, but you have to make sure to clean them out if your running in dirty water and water is hard on the brushes in the motor so they will wear much faster and make sure you re-oil the motor bearings if you were to say submarine the truck.

H2O doesnt conduct electricity very well. Its salt water you have to worry about. All electric motors are waterproof by nature. The windings are sealed so they dont short out on each other. As for batteries ,the conductivity of water isnt normally high enough to short out a battery pack. Now I have lost a lipo b/c of water but it was brackish water(high conductivity b/c of the salt). If you have stick packs just seal up the end for extra insurance(dont use caulk b/c it conducts when wet) and with side by side packs just seal up the ends. I have never done either and only had one lost lipo(again b/c of the brackish water)
I work on alot of pool lights and have to use my dewalt 18volt drill underwater alot. It freaks most people that a drill works under water without hurting it.

One thing about the battery connectors and water though is that if your not careful and get water in the connector it will corrode and you have to cut the connenctors off and go by new. I learned this from running my mlst2 in the snow and landing in a snow bank upside down lol.

Sorry if this sounds dumb but won't the WD40 make everything greasy?

Yes but you have to clean it up. It will make the truck look brand new when you are done. Spray it on and brush it off with a paint brush until its dry. Works like a charm. Just dont over do it with the wd-40 or it will take a while to get it dry(wd-40 wont dry on its own so you have to make sure you get it off)

If you play in the dirt the wd-40 trick works great too. Again it willl make that dusty/dirty plastic look new again
