Am I supposed to grease bearings?
I'm on my 3rd set of clutch bell bearings now on my RC 10. Why do these things wear out so fast? Should I be packing them with bearing grease? Each time I clean my RC 10 I spray the wheel bearings with a lubricant and I've only had one of those wear out since I bought the car. Aren't these bearings sealed? If so, it isn't going to do any good to try to pack them with grease because I won't be able to get any into the bearing. I need to figure out how to make these last longer because they ain't cheap!

nope i never had any problems with the clutchbell bearings. whenever i mess with my engines and take the clutchbell off for any reason ill add a couple drops of 3 in 1 oil on the bearings because it cant hurt anything. if u install them dry u might want to add a couple drops of oil?

My RC 10 GT eats clutch bell bearings for lunch. I only get about two weekends of running on them, oiling in between too, before they self destruct and it has been this way for four years now every two weekends of racing now I just change the bearings every two weeks or so to eliminate the problem

it happened on my rc10gt also. every time io would yank the pullstart, my wheels would spin. just took out the bell and soaked the bearings in a lubrication oil and its all good now.

bearings
If you are wearing the bearing out in a few weeks, have you ever snapped a crank shaft? It sounds like you might have the gear mess to tight. That is the problem I had with one of my cars.

Grampi... My NT used to eat bearings like crazy until I went with a
Teflon clutch shoe. Im not sure what the stock shoe is made of but it seemed to cause way too much heat. Slippage Im guessing.
What kind of clutch show does the GT have?
