A123 question.
Well the flying season here in NY is rapidly coming to a close. I'm planing this winters projects and parts. I plan on mounting my Trex 600 in a scale body and am thinking of using A123 batteries. My question is how many cells would it take for the stock CF600 (replacing the 5000 mah 6cell ) and where can you buy these already setup? I dont mind putting the deans connectors on but have no desire to make my own packs.

RE: A123 question.
I messed around with one of those Dewalt packs and was looking for a A123 set up for my E Smart 600 size helicopter. To be honest the weight was just too much so I'm sticking with Li pos. There's a ton of info out there on A123's Try looking in the battery forum here or on RC Groups. Mike

RE: A123 question.
I am using a 10S pack and I get 4.5-5min of flight, but most prefer a 12S setup. But if you go that route you will need a new ESC and a lower KV motor. Someone one on Helifreak was going to try a 7S 2P setup which would be pretty close to the stock Voltage and capacity, but I haven't kept up on their progress.
Here is a link to a company that builds the packs the way you would like by shape, cell count, balance connector type, and main connector type. https://www.tanicpacks.com/index.php...0ad28a5f5bdf5c

There was another thread, but there was no responses.
But this is also a scale T-Rex 600. I think it was a MD500. http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=100790
