Turns and winds on a motor
What does this actually mean?
I know the less the turns the more power (torque?) a motor makes
But what are the winds (or that smaller number, usually a 2 or a 3) that I see?
What is a good motor for having good top speed, but not so much power?

RE: Turns and winds on a motor
actually the more turns, the more torque lower rpm..the lower the number of turns, the less torque, higher rpms...
10t and lower will have excellent speed(rpms), but not alot of torque.
hence the reason the crawlers come with 27t to 57t (lathe) motors, high torque for crawling, but lower rpms
i think i got that right..

Scroll down to motors, at the very bottom.
It doesn't have much to do with torque, except for starting torque (when the motor is at rest). Once it is spinning, torque is no longer directly dependent on the number of turns.

RE: Turns and winds on a motor
Is there a motor which offers similar power to a silver can motor but with more rpm for more top speed?
And preferably more top end power rather than bottom end?
