you just made a great choice. not only do i prefer savages, i almost dislike t-maxxs. i have 2 of them and they are a pain and have little reward. my savage is the complete opposite though. it is easy, fun, powerful, takes a beating, and keeps going. i also like how the diffs are really easy to access as i am hard on diffs. i acutally broke the diff on my baja 5b clone and i had to take the buggy completely apart.

Any fail safe will work. I use the Duratax fail safe which cost about 20.00. A fail safe is when your batteries get low or you get out of range it will automaticly set your brake so you dont get a run off. Its the best insurance you can have and should be the first mod you do to any rc car/truck.

the savage is an amazingly designed truck.....the hardest thing to do is remove the transmission, and that isnt very hard anyway. Ergo's are fantastic, everything is easy to do and its tough as guts. HPI must have had some serious brain power when designing the savage.

Transmission is only hard if you have the old case.
I prefer the Ofna fail safe just because it is slightly smaller.
