RE: My T-Maxx build
Hello everyone!
Good to be back! Been dealing lately with some health issues, but as they say, you can cut me, you can shoot me, but you can't kill me
Anyways, here are the latest pictures of the truck:
Here is the Motorsaver T-Maxx Filter, courtesy of the good guys from [link]http://www.motorsaver.com[/link] Very, very nice of them. By the way, this filter rocks!!!
From left to right: Losi 8ight air filter, Motorsaver T-Maxx Air Filter, OS Super Air Filter:
Some video stills from this morning's drive. I swapped the CVEC pipe for a Traxxas 5493 Revo Resonator. It makes A LOT of difference
I need a wheelie bar
The engine only has 2 quarts of Morgan 20%, so it still needs to be fully broken in, but, I am not complaining
A video of me trying to pop wheelies:

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_6xVwUBAzg&feature=channel]Video 2[/link]
I think this build has come to an end. I hope you all enjoyed it, as much as I did. Now, burn some rubber!!!

P.S. I just realized that you have been building this T-Maxx for 2 months to the day!

Few questions, how do you like the OS engine? Power, torque, ect. Also what did you need to do to fit it into the T-Maxx? Because I dont think that it is a drop in engine. Final question, you said you swapped the CVEC pipe for the resonator and it made a big difference, which made more of a difference? Just some clarification!
Thanks

The OS .18 CV-R (S) is a drop in for the T-Maxx classic. I already had the parts (clutch nut, header, mount, linkage, etc), so it was no biggie, but is not a drop in for the 2.5/3.3 T-Maxx. For those, I guess an OS .18TM or .18TZ is more suited. My future plans for this truck include an .18TZ. If you still want to use an OS .18 CV-R (S) into a 2.5/3.3 T-maxx you will need a header [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSP45&P=7](Part #4940)[/link], and a clutch nut
[link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLR79&P=7](Part #4844)[/link]. Clearance between the transmission case and the clutch nut can be very tight.
The resonator gave it more low end torque, without losing any top end at all. By the way, I couldn't pop wheelies that easy with the CVEC pipe.

What made you go with the .18 OS instead of a medium block drop in like the picco red dot .26 maxx?

I guess I could have waited a little longer, save some $$ and get one of those, but I wanted to drive the truck so bad, and all I could afford was the OS

I love OS Engines. In my very personal opinion they are the easiest to tune, and the most forgiving. Compared to the TRX .15 and the HPI T15 this truck had before, is like dropping a V8 into a Honda Civic. I don't know how it compares against a TRX 3.3, perhaps someone else can answer that.

Oh ok, I thought that maybe it was more suited for a larger truck like a 2.5

You could use it if you want to. All you need is the parts I mentioned. By the way, my truck's chassis is from the 4908 T-Maxx, the big one. As you can see from the videos, the engine moves the truck with no problems at all.

RE: My T-Maxx build
That is one clean, and sweet ride Miguel How are you liking the O.S. compared to the HPI? Did you sell your HPI motor?
I have an .18 cv-rx for mine, I just can run it yet because i dont have a 1 way bearing for it. My 2.5r is running pretty good for now though, so ill run it till its dead, and then stick the O.S. in it Best part is that it has a tiger drive drill start on it
You need to find some jump for that beast

Can I ask why you got the rotary carb and not the slide???
To save some money, get this header:

It was the engine they had available at the time I ordered it.
That header is way cooler than the other one. Thanks for the link
