RE: What to Get
If you want to go all out and spend some money, get yourself a XTM X-Crawler.

Always fun to build a Clod based crawler too. Wheely Kings are another option for a "build it yourself" crawler. I prefer building my crawlers instead of buying them ready to go out of a box. You can't buy a 1:1 crawler ready to go, therefore I don't like buying my RC ones that way either! I think it's more fun to build them. AX10 is supposed to be sick though!

RE: What to Get
AX10 is the best performing rock crawler, until the Losi come out.
if you want to build one, pay no attention to these common types.
the best rock crawlers (period) are torsion or stick chassies. these others dont even come close.
but that entails buying the stick, the 2 MOA axels, wheels, tires, electronics etc.
google it, they are insanely simply, and beat the pants off anything else.
but if you just want to buy a box and play, AX10 ARTR, or a nice Berg MOA kit, is the way to go.
or wait a month or two and get the losi.
wheely kings dont win comps for a reason. sorry

RE: What to Get
I bought the new Himoto Rock Crawler and honestly I love it. It is so much better than the Axial RTR and is almost all aluminum. I have no complaints so far and it climbs anything. Almost 90 degrees of stock flex!

But I gotta admit the stock bodies are so ugly, thats why I painted mine.
