Default Frist time liPo user (5000mah 2-cell)

I got the Thunder power TP-610C charge for Thunder Power 5000mah 40C 2-Cell and want to find out the charge and discharge rate I get the choice of 50 mA to 1A and charge 0.25A ~ 10A and dont want to mis set the charge on them any help would be great!

Sometimes it tells you on the pack...If not 1C is always a good charge rate,So for 5000mah 5 amps would be good.As for discharge I cant help you i have never heard of anybody discharging a Lipo...

ok, I think I getting it, I am here to learn anyways
I thought there was a formula to it or something
but you say c=1.0A is what is needed then?
as for the discharge that is just what it was asking before starting the charge so I wasn't sure about what that should be set at

to find 1C you divide the MAH by 1000....Ex. 5000/1000=5amps.... 2400mah/1000=2.4amps.
Or in simple terms take the mah and move the decimal over three spots...

Some people will charge at a little more or less but its a good standard to use 1C,So turn off the discharger and charge that pack at 5 amps.
