waterpump question Rio 51

Default waterpump question Rio 51

Hello gang gotta a quick question about a waterpump Just orderd zen 260 with m5 mod from whh with a clutch and waterpump also orderd a wet pipe system my question is if the water is coming out of the pipe wouldent it be hard to tell if the motor is getting enough cooling water I was wondering if you could put a tee in and let some water come out of the side of the boat or would this stave the wet pipe for water thought about putting the tee in after the water leaves the manafould and into the wet pipe any thoughts would be a big help thanks guys..........wild

I thought about that; but you might want to talk to Tony C. ; if memory serves me correctly; the water discharging thru the pipe is what tunes the pipe; might make a difference, might not.

That is correct. The water causes the echo to distort allowing the enging to produce more torque. You actually lose about 20% top end compaired to a dry system.
