cc powermaster pipe question
Just got my powermaster pipe kit from cc racing and need some advice. My hull (proboat 1/8 hydro) is not really designed for a pipe like this which is no problem a dremel can't fix, one issue i think i might run into though is the water fittings on the tuned pipe. As sent they are at 12 oclock and 6 oclock(directly across from each other). would it cause a problem if i was to plug weld the hole at 12 oclock and reposition it at say 9 or 10 oclock? or would the water just find the shortest path and not cool around the coupler as designed? this boat still has a water pump. any help is greatly appreciated

RE: cc powermaster pipe question
The water will flow through all paths but the greatest flow will be the path of least resistance.
I would still expect some heat exchange to occur.
What you could do is plug the hole with a tapered screw, drill and tap a new location. If it doesn't work you can still go back with little work.
I'm waiting for my new CC pipe, it's in Jersey with the USPS and I'm in Midland Ontario.
Until then I've repaired my old pipe by drilling new holes and plugging the old holes, see picture below.
It's run fine a couple of times set up like this. Used gas fitters pipe dope for a confident seal. Good to 10,000 psi and 400 degress C.
