How many Batt Packs for Gas Planes?
Hello all,
I haven't yet gotten into the big gas engine planes yet but I'd like to in near future. What I'd like to know is that on these giant scale planes do you normally run two batt packs and not one (I would believe you need one for the ignition. And what size packs do you run, ( say in the 29% to 40% scale ) why I ask is that I'm looking at buying a batt charger and would like to know what I'm up against for capacity and what you gentlemen use to charge your RX and TX. I'd like to get something that will suit me now and later. Any advise would be appreciated. I'm looking at Sirius products.
Thanks in advance,
Pat

I run two receiver packs and have been doing this on all my large planes for 3 years. If you engine has electronic ignition you will need a seperate pack for it. If your engine is a magneto engine, you don't need a battery.

I tried to use this pack in my 27% Extra and my receiver kept going into fail safe. I switched to NiCads and my problems went away. What servos are you using? Also how much of a voltage drop do you experence during full deflection of all surfaces?
