Default Switched from Traxxas top fuel 20% to Byrons 30%

Just thought i would share my experience. I just bought a Gallon of Byrons 30% after i used up all of my Traxxas top fuel 20% and Man what a difference that made. Not only has the 3.3 come alive but it was so easy to tune it was unreal. Even with a bad tune it had good power but now that i have it dialed in i am going to have to put the wheely bar back on. Also even when i run it on the lean side the temps stay around 220-230. I dont know if it is the difference in Nitro or the different formula but whatever it is i dont think i will be using Top Fuel anymore!!!

I think it's mainly from not having such a high oil content. I noticed a big difference going from 20% Top fuel to Trinity Monster Horsepower 20% also. Like you mentioned, runs better, runs cooler, easier to tune, and the 1-way for the starter doesn't slip like it did before.

After running high oil content 20% fuel and then trying a gallon Sidewinder Race 30% w/12% oil, I won't be changing back anytime soon. 30% will be all that goes into my trucks from now on.

ok ive heard that the 2.5r and the 3.3 are very similar except for the displacement... that being said what do you have to do to the trx motors to run 30% in them?? i have a 2.5r in my tmaxx and it runs like **** lol im tuning it more than running the truck, which is very frusterating!!! when i can get it tuned it rips wheelies all day but it takes forever to get it there! i got no air leaks so im just thinking the top fuel sux. i used to run byron 20% gen 1 in the original .15 and the orion motor and that even seemed better than this trx fuel, which i have never run until i got the 2.5r. do i gotta add head shims or anything for 30%?? seems like its worth a try befor i give up on this motor and get an italian mill
