Default CMP Yak 54 50 size

I am wondering if anybody here has any experience with this plane:

If so, any info on it would be appreciated!

I had one some time ago. OS 46 FX with Slimline Pitts muffler, APC 11x7, battery attached to engine mount and no lead. The original carbon landing gear broke at third landing (grease landing!) and changed by aluminium one and reinforced the plate. The plane is a little heavy for its size (it spans only 1300 mm or so) and needs big figures, otherwise it will snap. Very elevator sensitive, I ended with only 4 mm up and down (yes, only 4 mm). Not a beginers plane..

Thanks greenbaron- I see that you had to place the battery way up front. How well do you think a GMS .76 will fly it?

Hi, Sowega

The GMS 76 could help you to balance without placing the batt next to the carburator.. and you will have plenty of power. Anyway, try to keep it as light as possible, because the snaps increase very quickly with the weight...

I have a CMP yak 54 -50. My wing tube seems to be very poor quality. I am thinking to get a carbon fiber tube. Does anybody knows where I can get a .750 od. So far I was unable to find a tube with a wall thickness less than .200, Thanks.
