Prop for Stinger/G62
Had a carbon fiber 23x10 on the stinger and it flew great. Should I stick with that prop or has someone else out there had good luck with other combos!!!!! Cracked prop on one of my not so perfect landings!!!!!!!! What is the prop shaft diameter for the G62????? Do i need to drill the new prop or do they sell reamers that will work up to that diameter????? New to the big planes and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!

Prop for Stinger/G62
I use a 22x10 on mine. Sems best.
IIRC shaft is 3/8". But may be 10mm. You will need to drill new prop.
Stinger was my first Giant Scale. Fun plane.

Prop for Stinger/G62
Oh, I would recommend a wood prop. A Carbon fiber or fiberglass prop may damage the crankshaft on a G-62.
Mine bent on a bad noseover with a fiberglass/nylon prop. A wood prop will just break. Better to replace prop than have crankshaft fixed.
I have a Menz on mine. I also use the Pro Zingers. The pro Zingers work well and are cheap enough to have 1 or 2 extra lying around.

Prop for Stinger/G62
I flew the exact set up you have. This bird lasted 2 1/2 years of hard flying 3 and four times to the field a week. I learned how to hover and torque roll with it. Of course a lot of other basic IMAC style flying was done also. I tried every prop I could get my hands on and ended up with a 20X10 standard Zinger wood. I loved that setup. It allowed the engine to really crank out the horsepower and made the plane much easier to hover. The vertical you will get with the 20X10 is rival of a 40% with a 150 in it. There are a lot of guys who will say this is not enough prop on a g-62 but they are wrong. A G-62 is a piston port engine it makes its power up high in the RPM range. Lugging them down doesn't help the performance at all. Don't be surprised if you see over 8000 rpm. T-6 racers are turning them 9000 and having no problems with the engine holding together. Anyway with the 20x10 Zinger you will never be wide open very much of the time anyway. You can keep trying different props but I really think you will like the 20 x 10 Standard Zinger the best. Happy flying

Prop for Stinger/G62
You all are the greatest!!!!!! Thank you so much for the responses I've had so far on my question. I would still like to know if they make a prop reamer that is big enough for these large cranks or should I drill the props with a drill bit on my drill press????

Reamer
I would not use a drill to ream out a prop since it very easy to get the hole off center. I've seen it done a bunch. You can tell if you did by checking balance before and after reaming.
The prop bolt is 10mm.
I use a 3/8 Bridge reamer in a drill press to get close followed by a 10mm finish reamer.
These are available thru mcmaster.com

Hope this helps.

G62 props
Several years ago I had a Pirate Extra 260 (30%) with a G62. I had been flying this airplane with a Zinger 22x10. After a recommendation from a friend of mine (Gerald Neal, Flies for JR) I bought a Bolly 21x12. WOW! The engine ran great and the performance doubled with no adjustments to the engine.
Maneuvers I was doing a full throttle with the Zinger could now be accomplished at half throttle on the Bolly.
Composite and Carbon Fiber props have far less tip flex than wood props and maintain there true pitch. The result is much better performance!
