Default 27 MHz

<div id="post_message_2240837">I have two channel and 27 MHz radio for my scorpion rock crawler. I ride my rock crawler far away and started to lose signal in about 20 feet. Is there a better way to get a rock crawler far enough without losing signal? The antennae from a receiver seems very long. Should I leave the antennae outside of a truck and let it drags on the floor? I might worry the antennae will tangle up on the wheels.</div>

If you want longer range, you need to get the antenna up in the air using an antenna tube. There should be a little mount on the crawler for one.

Definitely don't leave it drag on the ground.

The antennae wire is longer than the antennae tube. Is tube in TowerHobbies.com is longer than original tube and is equal length as the wire?

You can coil it up at the bottom on your chassis before you send remainder up tube . The wires are always longer that the tubes, HA!

I tried that, but still losing signal as I ride my crawler further away.

Not sure what you are doing but when I am crawling I am like 10-15 feet away tops. Not sure on your motor but did you install capacitors that came with it if needed?

I wonder if there is a way I can ride my rock crawler further away than 20 feet without losing signal? I need to find a way to extend the antennae wire outside the truck or higher up in the air to get maximal signal.

I'm mostly within 2ft to 4ft at the most mainly to determine my next move on tackling the obstacle... 20 ft? that is quite far for a crawler... I usually run my nitro cars past 20ft for speed but then again I use Spektrum radio for that
