SCX10 Done
Well Icouldn't wait for the damn Honcho kit so I just bought the SCX10 from a LHS. Crawling/Scale kits here in Houston, TX is next to impossible to find in stores. So I decided to shell out $210 for the older SCX10 with the ProLine Flat Irons...and used some custom New Bright mud tires mounted on HPISuper Star wheels.
The front I had to give it a 15mm offset as I will be doing tons of mudding in this truck. the rear offset is about 12mm with plastic hexes until I can find better ones. Does anyone know where I can get rear off-set hex hubs to match up with the front offset?
You can see the difference in stance from a vertical view.

RE: SCX10 Done
I am running a Titan 12T in there both diffs locked to pull out of mud/water and also a 25T pinion meshed with the 87T spur hooked up to a Venom hump back 9.6V battery (picked up 2 for under $30 bucks at my LHS). I used an extra AX10 motor plate I had laying around which only accepts 540 sized motors...this one is more of a 550 sized motor so took a lot of drilling to ghetto rig the motor on. Wheelies on command and at WOT i'd say it hits around the 30mph range...fast enough to do some damage if you're not careful. I've already cartwheeled this truck on the street
You can find em on Tower too: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LWV067
Word of caution: I ran a Traxxas 2075 servo and stripped the gears on its FIRST run and that was only on grass and little hills in my backyard. DO NOT USE THIS ****TY servo unless you have a servo saver to lessen the stress. This servo tends to like being mounted vertical not laid flat btw.
I run a Hand Bros CMS steering kit and it stripped so fast it was unbelievable. Brand new too. I went out and got a Hitec 645MG and waterproofed it myself. No issues yet on that one. Same setup and now I have more torque and metal gears!

RE: SCX10 Done
Not hard if you got a fat drill bit to drill the aluminum motor plate wide enough to fit a 550 motor in there. Just grind away a bit by bit....I guess it would help if you had a dremel but I don't so I just kept cutting into it.
