Returning to the hobby; 1/10 on road electric advice…please?
So, after a 5 year or so hiatus, I’m going to give RC a shot again. I’m going to a race at the local track tomorrow (and will be bugging people) but additional info would be greatly appreciated…
The last car that I had was an Associated NTC3. While insanely fast, I was hardly a decent driver, plus there was very little turnout at the local track for on-road nitro….
I’m going to give electric a go this time, and actually race – starting in the beginner class, which has these requirements:
• Novice Stock Touring Car
Chassis: any 1/10 scale 4WD touring car
Motor: any 27T brushed or 17.5T brushless
Battery: 6-cell or 7.4V lipo
Body: any 190mm or 200mm touring car body
Tires: rubber touring car
Minimum Weight: 1500g
Can any of you out there give me a good starting point in regards to a car to get started with? Hobby People is the local shop, so if they carried the particular brand/car, it would be a huge plus.
I don’t need a ready to run (though that would be fine). I’m OK building something and actually prefer it so that I know how things work.
Just trying to get a starting point and some ideas here….thanks in advance!

Hrmm, on Hobby People's website they don't seem to carry much selection of on-road 1/10th cars. Other than the TC4, i wouldn't really recommend any of the other cars they have for the class you're looking at.
OFNA seems to have a solid entry-level chassis in the JL 10e GT ( http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Sedan-Kit-ARR ). I was recently reading about it on one of the other forums and had some good reviews. For the price I think it'd be hard to beat. This way you'd have enough money left over for a brushless system, servo, radio, battery and charger.

Alright, fun. There's also a hobby shop in thousand oaks. I don't remember the name of it, but they probably have different stuff than at hobby people
