Default Trouble gettings new tires onto new rims...?

Yesterday in the mail came new TIRES and WHEELS for my drift car. However, I cannot get the tires on to the wheels. I can get the tire over the first edge so it's half way on, but Ican't get it on the rest of the way. I've tried heating the tires up with a hair dryer first which helped a little but not that much. I didn't heat it up alot as Ididn't want to melt/damage the tire. Any tips on how to get the tires on the wheels?

Which tire and rim? They usually fit really tight over the rim so you don't need to glue them. Try soaking the tire in sink water as hot as you can get it for a few minutes then place your rim on the floor and press the tire down from above.

It's the tires and wheels I have in the links on the words. And I'll give that a go, thanks. Should I freeze the rim to try and make it shrink a bit, or does that only work with metal objects?

EDIT: I just tried that and it helped some but it didn't get it all the way. I attached a picture of how far on it it incase that helps. Iput all my weight on it (I'm not that big) and I used a hammer a bit.

Don't freeze your rims plastics become brittle when frozen and you might end up cracking them. Also just use really hot tap water don't boil them or anything and when you put it on the floor make sure it is a hard flat surface not carpet.

I tried it again by stomping on them this time and they went on a little further. It only needs to get over the big lip of the tire on both sides.

Almost there... Is there anyone else around with more weight than you to help? I have done that method a few times and it always pops in for me. Do you have a board or hard cased book handy? If you lay that on top of it flat and stand on it it may pop it in easier because you are applying equal pressure to all sides.

Heat up the rim with a hairdryer or heat gun for awhile, will get on easily then.

Ok I tried putting a set of HPI drift tires on today for the first time and it was tight as hell. What I did to get the tire completely over was use a small flat head screw driver and slipped it between the rim/tire and then pulled forward while rotating the screw driver around the wheel.

you should have just gotten super drift tires they are not as thick as those, but they take more skill to use IMO. but i think you could slick up the tire with something and it should just slide right over the rim.

Would driving a real car over it break the rim? I think i'm going to put the wheel with the tire almost on under a board an then drive over it. See it that'll make it work. And I think it is the thickness that's making it hard because I can't pry the lip of it up and over the edge.

Wouldn't it be bad to grease the inside of the tire? I noticed with the Tamiya drifts tires that as I ran the car the tires would heat and expand sometimes slipping off in cases.

I can't get anything to work. I think i'm just going to buy some different ones. These were super cheap so it's not a big loss. I can get the tire up the the final lip but not over it on either side. Maybe these tires are just the wrong size for the wheels? I notice that the tire is thicker on the outside rim than on the middle. Imagine the picture is a cross section of the tire, with the inside on top. It's getting stuck right at the bead and I think it might be because of the thickness of the outside. It's not as big as in the drawing, but you get the idea. thoughts?

You may be right those are Chinese knock offs which is why they cost so little. But even the good stuff from HPI and Tamiya are made in China probably anyways. Must be a quality control thing then. LOL That sucks either way though, did you try the screw driver method?
