Default i need help deciding!!

I am a newbie and the lhs sells Traxxas parts and want me to get a T-maxx 3.3. I want to buy from them, but I’ve heard that there are many weak points. The main ones I’ve read about are the drive line, bulkheads, shock towers, and a-arms. Are these a problem? I know this is a Traxxas forum but I've been looking at a HPI savage X 4.6. I want to know if any one has had a bad experience witha savage and why I should NOT but the t-maxx and if there are beginner and basher friendly stock. I have heard the good and now I want to hear the bad.

i have had a savage and now i have a tmaxx, and personally i loved the savage better then the tmaxx. im afraid to bash the tmaxx like i did my savage since some parts looks like they could break very easily. me personally i would go buy a savage but you got to think, does your lhs carry the parts for these. if not where can you get them at?
