smoke oil injection point on fuji 64cc?
Hello all,
I have a question regarding smoke inj nipple placement. Most engines with mufflers with smoke nipple seem to have the nipple well downstream of the engines exhaust port (I'm talking 2-stroke engines by the way). We're putting a magneto fuji 64cc in a giant stinger, the fuji dealer had no suggestions for an approved smoke muffler and I didn't do an exhaustive (NO PUNINTENDED!) search looking for an aftermarket one. We're just trying to use what the engine came with, especially since I already sliced and diced the cowl to fit the fuji muffler. Pics tell the story, any concerns? The nipple injects into top of muffler, is offcenter so it can't just spray the oil directly through the single outlet pipe but must instead hit some hot metal on the way out. My concern, what is the likelihood of a glob of oil getting into the engine which then causes a hydraulic lock and broken engine or in the benign case just snuffs out the motor? Thanks Steve.

RE: smoke oil injection point on fuji 64cc?
I guess the fundamental question is, is there EVER ANY suction pulling air into the engine via the exhaust port ? The oil injection will be throttle mixed so only injects at say >75% throttle settings, but with this nipple placement oil would definately get into engine if there was ever any suction.... The stock can muffler shown is pretty hollow on the inside, there is a sort of sound absorbing/resonating foil or fiber in the upper 1/4 of muffler but from there down its just a metal can. The nipple goes into part of muffler thats just metal no foil/fiber... thanks, steve.
