You had a twin cylinder? lol, just joking. By the discoloration it looks like it might have run hot. What does the top of the piston look like?

Edit: Darn, you added clarification as I was typing. Kinda makes my joke less funny.

I had a really hard time keeping the temps in check on my 2.5r and eventually swapped it out for an OS .18TM. I am sure others will chime in, I am by no ways an expert on glow motors.

Excessive heat and rpm's cause the piston skirts to break...

As dark as that is it looks like you were simply just running it really hot. Did you use a temp gauge? It's handy to have one around to make sure that it isn't overheating.

I like to run my 3.3 at around 210-240F. Although I have heard that some of the TRX engines like to run hot. whatever gives you the best performance. I would say no hotter than 300F. Now if you had good smoke, yet it was running hot enough to do that, then you may have an air leak. I would suggest sealing your engine when you put it back together. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that you hurt the connecting rod, too; it's just as daark as the piston. You may want to consider replacing that.

i threw it together and it didnt look damaged at all i couldnt tell when it was on there. i was breaking my new piston and sleeve in and my batteries died and the very end of the first tank and it is now dark do you guys think itll hurt it if i wait till tomorrow or the next day (its supposed to rain tomorrow) to do the 2nd-5th tank. i think not because it has to cool down all the way before you can do the 2nd tank so i was thinking that it would be like it was cooling down. idk tell me what you think
