54inch mono engine help!!

Default 54inch mono engine help!!

ok so my chainsaw engine idea got tottaly shot down so people said use a zenoah well l dont have much money how much are they and what type or exact engine would i need to power this 54inch mono beast and i want this thing to go ATLEAST40mph the faster the better... could i use a weed wacker engine? how many cc's would i need to power this and what type of brand is recommended also still stuck on what type of hardware im trying to use all the same hardware from the same type of boat any rudder suggestions and prop or tips anything THANKS!

You might get 40 with stk zen. They r about 200 but u will need a tune pipe as well. Speed cost
$

In boat motors big torque at lower rpm does not create speed, only handling issues []
To make boats go fast and handle well, smaller props at Higher rpm work best !

This is why RC boats of old like those using homelites etc were never very fast. Simply swapping out engine to a higher rpm Zenoah type motor typically had 10 mph gains in speed.

Look at spending between $400-$500 on motor and pipe for either a stock Zen or Rcmk($80 more +2 xtra HP).
