RE: Extremeflight 88.5" Extra - Build and Fly
Where did you Brillelli 60 guys mount your throttle servos? The carb is off to the right side of the engine so the throttle mount that came cut in the engine box won't work. I'm thinking of using that Nyrod stuff for the first time. Scott's manual says not to mount the throttle in the engine box. Because of this I'm thinking of mounting it back in the front of the fuse on the side of the gas tank. The throttle arm ends up pretty close the engine mount, I have a short 2-56 ball end that would clear the engine mount at idle if I cut a little of it off. Also I'm thinking of threading the hole in the arm with a 2-56 tap since there's no room for a nut underneath. Ideas woulkd be appreciated.
Also where did you route your diaphragm vent?

The 256 ballink will work fine... its pretty close but works just fine. You cant see in the pics but the push rod has a bunch of bends in it to get it just right
As far as the vent line.. I just drilled a hole and wiretied the end up near teh wing tube.

No but you can build the mounts very easy.. it doesn't have to interlock.. 2 triangles and 2 side pieces.. I had it laying around from another project.
Can't get a straight shot with the longer arm because the standoff is in the way.

Do you think I can find a pic of that haha? Man I know I took one including the tracing...
Here is the best example I could find real quick.. basically just a square around the head, then 1 hole for needle adjustment and like a 3 x 4" hole for heat..

Joe asked me for a pic of my cowl cut out... I am emabarrassed to share this one hahah
Looks a bit dirty after having too much fun and running out of gas I haven't had a chance to bring her down to the shop and clean it up. I bent the one side of the gear and she nosed over at the end as you can tell in the pic. Once I clean off the dirt and what not its actually not that bad I just dont have room on my bench right now to bring it down and clean it before the pic.
New gear is here now she will come down this week providing the wind drops below 30mph again.. been bad weather around here for weeks
Anyhow here is what I did..

Here are some pics of my completed bird. Didn't have much time cause I was getting prepared for FX3D. The DA50 w/ KS1060 pipe and Vess 23B Prop, run flawless, spools up quick and very reliable. The plane was thoroughly 3D trashed at FX3D and survived, even after touching the rudder and tail down while performing the rolling lawnmower (really low rolling harrier. With CG dead on, this thing loves to inverted harrier. This is one serious freestyle machine! Thanks to B & E Graphix for the awesome vinyl. See you guys at the NALL!

Hey Rennie... thought you disappeared! Never around anymore.
When are you going to try a real engine?
nps Joe.. I highly suggest a 20-24 oz tank.. 16 just isnt enough with a pipe.. 13-14 mins absolute max

Thats cool!
Ya def still cold around here... had 30-40 mph winds Friday and Sat! The season is almost here.. I have only been out 3 or 4 times so far this year. Have to start getting ready for IMAC.
Thats cool that you got your engine back after that long.. gotta love getting an engine back you had written off.
