DV8R, who is flying them and what would you change?

I did some work on the jet around 4 years ago then I put it away, I took all the pieces out to inspect them and to my surprise I have done lots of work on the fuse to start cutting a set of parts to build a fuse.
Do you think I got the right angle on the nose, a section of the fuse was missing.

CARS II, Delta Mike flys out of our club and we only have a 400 foot strip. He doesn't need it all -- well maybe when it is 105 degrees outside and there is no wind. But he flys the stink out of that thing and yes it is every bit of 43 lbs at takeoff. Quite a show when he starts dropping those screaming Nerf Bombs and popping the drag chutes.

I don't know of any bouncing problem. Not saying I have never bounced or made a crappy landing, but the airplane is one of the easiest I have flown.Mine is the stock original gear.. Been flying mine for 8 years..........
I would say out of the 400 plus landings I have made with the DV8R 375 of them looked like that video..

What has the nose gear being to long got to do with bouncing a landing. If you hit on the nose gear you are doing something really wrong!
Delta Mike's plane has the stock original gear all around and it sits perfectly level on the ground. I have probably watched him land it about 100 times and don't remember any bouncing problems and damn sure none from the nose gear being to long.

I think the TBM DV8R is a little different. I have heard of differences in where the gear is positioned. I don't think we should be comparing the two. The original PCM Models DV8R is the one I built. It was one of the last kits Pat produced. So I can't really say how the TBM DV8R lands. It may have had issues,,,

I watched a lot of vids and I was seeing the bouncing . it must be you have yours tuned in real well. maybe you could help everyone with posting your control throws and mixes and settings that has to be the key to smooth landings. other than trying to land to fast others said rhe nose gear was to long.?

I read about the bouncing Dv8r during it infancy, I learned after reading and landing may different airplanes that the key to a good landing is a good approach, the ability to manage the airspeed during touchdown to a minimum to prevent the aircraft from bouncing.
Watching Dennis land the Dv8r got me by surprise, on the video the airplane was descending at what it looks like a steep approach then suddenly he pulled the nose up to stop the descend and the airplane then landed at a slow airspeed without bouncing, that was a really good landing, that wing is hard at work when flying ( Dennis comments )

My DV8R was my second jet. From the very first landing to my last it was typically the same. Take off flaps 90% of the time. Remember my airplane is at about 36lbs on the landing. When I touch down the airplane sticks.. Just like in the video. I do land nose high and typically have full up elevator at touch down. Because I fly off of 400' my approaches are long and low managing my speed using the throttle carrying me to the runway...... It amazes me that the little Mercury HP pushes that monster the way it does..
