I just hate decisions like this. I do need the small one because this is my "throw it in the back of the truck, no hassle, low cost, fun plane". Flying the big stuff is a hoot, not to be surpassed; but sometimes you just need to relax and have fun.
Dude, I LOVE decisions like this!! Because I just throw my hands up and BUY THEM ALL!!! LOL

You'll like the Pitts, be sure to tell us what you think.

Actually he did...his topic is "Current" best, none of those mentioned other than the Accel is available, is it? And when will it be?

Good point Gordo the one time I thought I was mistaken I found out I wasnt......just ignore me

Maybe Spacey could comment on the second part of the post since my first part is irrelevant.

Yes, current is what he said. My vote remains the same.

As for Spacey, I don't know nuthin' about nuthin', but he sure comes to the aid of OMP a lot. More often and faster than even the ownership.

But anyway, splais is going to give the bipe a go. I can't wait to hear what he thinks of it.

One thing I've learned about flying profiles is this: after you plant a $3K giant (like I have) when you plant a profile (like I have) you say shoot and go buy another. I've crashed two giant scales and been depressed for a week both times. I've had several Morris Profiles, the Extreme flight, the Kat, they are all fun; I have great hopes for the bipe profile. should be here in 3 or 4 days. I don't think a lot of people realize how quick to assemble and how high quality this new generation of one piece winged, external servo'd profiles are. I think I put that Kat and EF Edge together in an afternoon. Some time ago I posted a comparison of the two.

dhooks: I guess then I need to apologize. I learn to speak english day by day baby step at a time, just like I'm learning to 3D...one little step at a time. As you know I speak Afrikaans day in and day out and english is definitely not one of my strongest points. Seems I misinterpreted the word current a little bit. Details details details As far as I know the ARFs from OMP is exactly the same as the kits but yes I suppose they will have to proven first so there you guys are right. I apologize if anything I ever said offended you in any way.

JWilliams: Thank you very much. Coming from you it means alot to me. The way I fly does not get any attention here in South Africa yet. I guess it is because I'm the only one in my club doing it or well I don't know. And obviously watching videos from guys like Quiqui and all top folks really motivates one to try and advance. I love taking on new challenges but 3D has really been a mountain of stick skills to even try to get good at.

Tailtwister, Gordo: Lets get this thing straight. I do not work for OMP nor do I get my planes for free. I pay for them just like everyone else does. I am an OMP fan and I will remain one for the rest of my life! I can not begin to explain the frustration the guys of OMP had to put up with just to try and get me a profile....fact is they didn't hesitate one moment. They never gave up on me and did everything in their power to get a kit to me safely. The time I ordered the Yak there was only 2 possible candidates I could do an internet transaction with. Morris Hobbies and OMP. Paul swany was the other person really praised but he only took paypal. Go around on Paypal's site and see if they have South africa listed? They do not give South African accounts anymore! So what was I supposed to? I didn't even have a credit card and do you think my mother was really happy about the idea of having her credit card details roam around the internet in emails etc? Point is it was a 5 month never ending frustration with conversations across emails with Dion which were pretty much pointless for him but still he was willing to put up with and helped me out. He made me an instant Fan and that won't ever change!

Seems like everything opposing what you guys have to say is always the worst thing a single person could do. What makes you guys so right? What is wrong with a fan praising a company? Am I going to go to Hell for that? I don't think God will ever judge me on what sports team I supported. When you guys always supported the Burrito in exactly the same kind of threads like this one I didn't ask you the questions you ask me now did I? If you want to deem me as an enemy then do so. I do not see anywhere I did anyone any wrong.

And yes this is no joke! I am going back to flying my profiles now. Not just saying it.

hey guys lets not get my thread off point here. sometimes the barriers of language, country and distance leads to a certain amount of confusion. Everything is cool. Spacey, I looked at your video and it's a nice plane and you fly pretty good in it.

PS: and Spacey, if english is not one of your strong points you are doing better than you think. lets all go out and fly.

Hey Spacey, good points... You present yourself so well, I never would have guessed that english is your second language... I'm glad OMP was there for you in your hour of need and that you've got the 3D bug. Looks like you know your way around the sticks from your video are are doing all you can to promote the hobby.... Wish I could have taken care of you back when, but I guess we all have our limitations...

Take care buddy!! Keep on 3Ding!

I have seen those planes, and they look good. They look good in peices, sitting on display, but the Kat is a proven ARF. Proven for a couple of runs now.

The OMP Edge and Yaks have been proven for many years. The Edge is in it's 4th year now. The giant profiles are in their second run of ARFs and the small ones are due any day by Alex at Accel. They are stuck her in the states with customs. Hopefully it won't be too much longer!

I agree with Gordo and Ill admit Im partial to it......but there isnt a whole lot out there right now in an ARF thats actually available in stock right now.
I agree too. OMP YAK/Edge ARF's, EF Edge 540T, PA Bad Boy V2.....all due in sometime, but as to when?....your guess is as good as mine.
Wonder how many people, like me, went ahead and got KAT or the Pitts. Cant say enough about Accel hobby!

Well most of these profile arfs are due any time now...and from the pics I've seen on this forum...most of you guys won't be doing much flying for at least a month or so (cold and snow)...so sit back, relax and practice on the sim or the foamy in the back yard, you'll have plenty of 40 size profile arf options soon....but don't get just one or the others will sell out. Must haves include the EF Edge, Accel Kat 40 and the OMP Edge or Yak or both.

The truth is I wouldn't mind some stick time on the Yak 47 from OMP. Maybe I'll run into one at a fly in this summer.

My post was to say that the ARFs from OMP are new, not the design. Did I just miss that the ARFs were out last season too?

The "Bad Boy" looks like a real machine too. I can't wait to hear more about the V2 which hits any day now too...

No this is the first run.

But they are manufactured by the company you represent and have been a proven model for several years now.

We've also seen the prototypes and have approved them and then some.

Got any idea when the ARF's will be available? How about pricing?

I know that they were held in customs as of last Friday. The cost will be posted on the day we get them and take orders the same day.

Razorback, the problem is we keep getting a promise date from Alex at Accel and then something comes up and it changes (not his fault!). Believe me it's getting old with us as well. These were originally promised prior to Christmas. Guess other projects took priority. As of today I have no new date from Alex, only that they are someplace in the states in the hands of customs officials?????
