Default Cutting an RC car off

When you buy a Nitro RC car - I have 4 of them - 2 TMaxx 2.5's - 1 NTC3 - 1 OFNA Hyper 7 PBS. The manual always says to pinch thr fuel line for all 4 of them. Not sure what other brand manuals print, but that is what they say. In the manuals says not to do the muffler or the air filter thing. The TMaxx Video that comes with the truck says same thing.

But personally I sometimes do the muffler thing because it is easy for me. If it blows up the motor - I do not know.

Speaking of three channel radios...If you have a spare channel, you can put an additional servo that controls a valve in the fuel line to cut the fuel to the engine. But why waste the channel and add the extra weight? Add the valve and just manually close it when you want to kill the engine. That way you can use your 3rd channel for the remote starter.....worth a lot more than a remote kill in my opinion.

Moving the throttle control trim all the way down will close the throttle all the way and stop the engine. It's done as a safety device. If the plane gets out of control, whether on the ground or in the air, you are able to "chop the throttle" or shut the engine down by moving the trim control. You can easily set up a car to work that way. In addition, if you put a short length of exhaust tubing on the stinger, you won't burn a finger when you snuff out the engine. Been doing it for years. Works great!!
Actually you can't setup a car that way unless you do not like using your brakes! Every time you hit the brakes the car would die. That idea would definitely work with separate throttle/brake servos though.
