See operating doors to reattach chute cord.
Operating canopy from details4scale....Perfect alignment.
I cut out all vents in fuse.
Modified intake mounting to fuse.
Modified bypass mounting....aluminum mounts with aircraft grade nut plates.
More pic tomorrow.

Hey Greg. ....you party pooper....hahaha. ..lol. I might be asking you for some pointers here and there.
The reason I chose the 180 is because I mainly fly off grass and want the extra push out the rear end....however, bvm recommends a 180 or 200 on there site.....anyways. ....
I am going to do the titanium like yours.
I found some really thin sheet ......it's a lot thinner than the stuff titanium goat sells. Almost 4 times thinner...but it's expensive.
I will post more photos in the next few days

From the BVM web site..the power recommendation:
The model is sized to operate with a JetCat P-120 or 160, AMT Pegasus, or RAM 1000 engine and weigh about 27 to 29 pounds. Wing area is over 1,200 square inches.
We reverse engineered a real bone yard F-100D to produce an exact scale outline model - something that any scale jet enthusiast would be proud to own.
The F-100D is very easy to assemble and service and despite its size, it completely disassembles to fit into the BVM JET-CASE, making it very easy to transport.
P-200's are not recommended.

Yea was going to put a P160sx but couldn't find one so
I bought a 180rxi...same size As THE 160sx.
Actually BVM says 180rxi , P200sx or mamouth for the F model.
Smaller engine for the D model.
I will post more pics tomorrow

I have an F model with a 160sx, it does not need one extra pound of thrust. I fly from a 600 ft petromat runway, absolutely no issues on take off
My dad's D model has been flown extensively from grass on a 120SE... Absolutely no problem. In fact, take offs are much prettier on a 120 than a 160
If I were to equip a D model, I would go with a cheetah. Save a pound or so on the engine.
One thing to keep in mind with the bigger engines is that the F100 fits only a gallon of fuel or so with no space for extra tanks, I flew mine initially on a AMT pegasus and I could barely fly for 6 minutes (pushing it).
Changing to a 160sx was the best change ever. The reduced weight and an extra minute of flight time made it a different airplane
My recommendation? don't overpower these birds just for the sake of it. There are penalties to overpowering.

As he mentions above, the 180RXI is the new replacement for the P-160. Its the same size and weight, but the thrust is up by 4 lbs and the fuel consumption is up by 3 oz/minute at full throttle over the old 160. I'd be willing to bet that the fuel consumption of the 180RXI is equivalent or better than the 160 at similar thrust settings. The old P-180 is too big and heavy, I agree (but the Olympus did fit and fly OK), but the 180RXI is not the same engine.
The only other Jetcat option, new, is the P-140RXI. Its 32 lbs, which might be OK for the F model, you have more experience then me with that, but personally, I'd go with the 180RXI in the F model - especially if I was going to fly off of grass...

Although, I've been tempted to try the cheetah on my F just to see what the weight difference would feel like... one of these days when i have nothing else to do

Great threads. So very interesting. It's a shame we have such busy lives and few of these threads are ever "finished"....
Not meant to be a dig on this threads op, just an observation after reading every BVM jet build thread I could find on the internet this past week.

Well, the BVM Hun is a BIG project whichever way you choose to finish it.. I fear that most of todays modellers just aren’t interested (or even capable) of getting one finished.
And just because the thread is not concluded, does not necessarily mean the model was not finished.. RCU Jets forum can be a fickle place. Sometimes I just can’t be bothered posting with all the nonsense that goes on here.
Mine will get done eventually.
And this one of Rainers is incredible http://translate.googleusercontent.c...IgpZeLM68Fc8Fg
Looking forward to seeing the big F-86 Ravill

yea I have 4 flights on it. Its for sale. I think it is sold. I hate to sell but need some cash for medical purposes.
I will build another one as soon as I get my surgery done on my back.
I think I have around 900 hours in it. Awesome airplane.
