Wayne,

I was hoping to chat with you about three blades at the Cinci IMAC, but, well...forgot

Hey Wayne:
If you haven't tried a Mejzlik 25x12 3-blade yet, I'll let you try mine at Chicagoland after the contest.

I am running a 25x12 Air Models on my 35% RadioCraft Extra. I started with a 26x12 but it was a little too much prop, while I was waiting for the 25 to come I tried a 28x10 Mejzlik 2-blade. I think the 25x12 is right in between for noise, as well as power. Sorry, didn't pay much attention to downlines.

Mike,

Intially I tried an AirModels 25x12. LOTS quieter than any 2 blade and much slower downlines.
I then tried a Biela 25x12 and the downlines are the same but its a little quieter. Thats what I have been using since.

Funny, switched from a Menz 27x10 2-blade to a Mejzlik 25-12 3-blade and think my downlines are faster. Doesn't downline braking depend on the diameter of the prop and not the number of blades???

Anyway, I really like the 25-12, loads up the engine a bit more, but plenty of power for IMAC. It does lose a bit of speed at the top of long uplines though. Much quieter than the 27-10. The 27-10 is not enough prop for any DA-100.

I am no expert but I think downline speed is going to be slower with a 3 blade becuase there is more prop surface in the disk...

If you are talking surface area, then I bet the 27-10 Menzs is rea close to the 25-12 mejzlik. That menzs has some wide blades!

I found a very quiet prop with the DA is the 3W 27x11 carbon fiber prop. Quiet, pulls hard, and excellent downline braking. I think its a little better IMAC prop than my mejzlik 28x10, and a lot quieter. Going to try a 28x10 Bolly wood prop (new from bolly) tommorow to see how I like it. For 3D I found the Prince 27x10 to be best.

I have a Majzlik 24x12 3 blade that i want to try on my DA100. Do you all think its to small. The DA 100 IS ON MY Radio Craft 35% Staudacher 26 lbs.

I think the 24x12 is too small, more fitted for a 80 or so. The mej 25x12 seems to be the ticket for the DA. I just flew my new bolly wood prop today (28x10) and that prop rocks! I like it a lot better than the menz, 3W props I have had, and even like better than the mejzlik 28x10. Awesome IMAC prop and 3D, just noisy.

Do you like the 3W wood prop better than the prince? Why is the prince prop the best 3D prop?
thanks.

I like the bolly the most for all flying types if I had to choose one. The prince prop is a awesome slow speed pulling prop, ie hovering, harriers, harrier rolls, etc. Hard to explain why, but once you fly one in slow 3D flight you will know what I mean. I let my friends try them on their 3D planes and the automatically wanted one to replace their menz props. I fly more sequence flying than 3D, so I am going to stick with the bolly, since it does this well, but also 3Ds very, very well too. My friend who just flys 3D is going to use my P-Tip.

flyinrazrback:
how heavy is the 3W 27x11 carbon prop??
exactly how noisy are you talking for the bolly?? too loud for imac use??
i see you liked the new bolly wood, i was talking to bobby last week and he said he liked them much better than the 3W props. have you tried a biela yet??
i would like to see how the biela compares to the new bolly wood props.

I have not tried a beila, my friend tried one on a 106 and did not like it. The 3W 27x11 is around 11oz I think, not too bad, typical carbon. The bollys will rip when you take them wide open, but for IMAC would be ok if you know how to use that stick on the left side of the transmitter. They pull and keep on pulling. I am going to try the 3W 27x11 again tommorow since putting the cans on my DA and see how it pulls it.
